Supplements: To take or not to take?

I get asked a lot of times from my clients about supplements. What do you take? What kind do you like? Is it worth taking supplements? Believe me, this is not an easy answer. We are all different and our needs are different. Some of us may need more iron in our diet. Others of us may need more Vitamin D. If you are confused about whether or not supplements should or should not be a part of your diet, then I think I may have just found the answer for you.

If you have not heard of Sol Orwell and Kurtis Frank, the two geniuses over at Examine.com, you will know about them today. They have recently put out an AMAZING guide about supplements and I have to say, I have never seen anything as comprehensive and detailed as what they have just put out. It is called the Supplement Goals Reference Guide. Notice the title of the guide – Supplement Goals. This means that whatever YOUR goals are (not your mom’s, or your Aunt Catherine’s or the guy behind you at Whole Foods), supplements may or may not play a role in your life. If you think you may be missing a piece of the puzzle when it comes to supplements, look no further than Sol and Kurtis’s guide. You are not going to find a more thorough, more researched, more up to date guide about the who, what, when, where and why of supplements. It is truly the bible of all supplements. And it is a must have for anyone who is considering using supplements and wants to know which ones will help them achieve their personal goals. As Dr. John Berardi of Precision Nutrition states when it comes to deciding whether or not a client needs supplements, “Your approach to supplements should be pragmatic and evidence-based. If you recommend a nutritional supplement to your clients, it should be based on a strict supplement needs analysis.” This also applies to YOU as well. Before jumping on the bandwagon of “I need this supplement because….,” you need to decide whether it is the right one for you and if it isn’t, then you really should not use it. This is where the Supplement Goals Reference Guide comes in. Anything and everything you ever wanted to know about supplements is right here in this guide.

And this guide is meant to be just that…a guide. If you are not sure about a particular supplement, look it up and see if it is right for you. If someone mentions that they are feeling great using a particular supplement and recommend it to you, before you run out a buy it, look it up. Sol and Kurtis have done a phenomenal job of grading each supplement and providing you with honest, researched based, scientific findings of each and every supplement that is out there. If they don’t think it is worth it, it most likely is not.

So how can you get your hands on this? Well, right now. Head on over to their website today to pick up the Supplement Goals Reference guide . Don’t waste time trying to do the research yourself when these guys have down all the hard work for you. 😉 Trust me. You won’t be disappointed. 😉
