Charm City Stronger Together is a Strong Partners Contest displaying the strength of two athletes working together to move as much weight as possible! Rather than competing individually, Charm City Stronger Together will require competitors to form a team of 2 and complete  4 Strongman events.

Team Deadlift: Frame and Barbell – AMRAP for 75 seconds

Each competitor will start on either the frame or the barbell for the first 30 seconds of the event. Competitors will do as many reps as they can on the implement. At the 30 second mark, the competitors will then SWITCH implements and finish the rest of the time on the new implement. 

Equipment Allowed: straps, chalk, belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps. NOT Allowed: suits, briefs, anything sticky, oil, baby powder, hooks.)

Women: 185lbs

Men: 275lbs

Open Gender: 225lbs

Carry Medley – Sandbag,Keg,Hussafel, Fire Hydrant

Each team will be presented with 4 heavy odd objects, which must be carried 50ft.  Each member will have two objects. The first team member will carry the first weight 50 feet to their teammate. The second team member will then pick up an object and carry it 50 feet. The first teammate will then pick up the next object and carry it 50 feet. Once they reach the other side, the second teammate will carry the final object 50 feet. Objects must be placed upright and fully over the finish line. Time stops when all hands are off the final implement, and time is capped at 60 seconds. The teammate may only start to pick up and carry their implement once the other teammate has completed their pick and carry 50 feet. 

Equipment Allowed: chalk (liquid or powder), belt, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, wrist wraps. NOT Allowed: straps, suits, briefs, anything sticky.

Women: 110lb Keg/100lb sandbag/Hussafel (110lbs)/Fire hydrant (from an 18”box)

Men: 150lb keg /150lb sandbag/Hussafel (150lbs)/Fire hydrant

Open Gender : 125lb keg/135lb sandbag/Hussafel (125lbs)/Fire Hydrant

Sandbag Over Bar for Time

Team members will pick up the sandbag and put it over the bar as many times as they can within 60 seconds. Each person will pass the sandbag back and forth to the other team member. Women will have a 44” bar. Men will have a 52” bar. Open Gender will have a 48” bar. 

Equipment Allowed: chalk, knee sleeves, elbow sleeves, gloves, wrist wraps. NOT Allowed: suits, briefs, anything sticky.

Women: 100lbs

Men: 150lbs

Open Gender: 135lbs

Back to Back Hold for Time

A strongman hold for time is a test of static strength and grip endurance, where the athletes lift a heavy object for as long as possible before it touches the ground or they drop it. Athletes will stand back to back as they hold the object in front of them for time. Time stops when the first athlete loses the hold. We will be using Indian Clubs for this event. 

Women: 10lbs

Men: 20lbs 

Open Gender: 15lbs and 20lbs (teammates decide who is holding which weight)

Why is this contest important?

This event is our annual fundraiser for the Music Therapy Program at Gilchrist Hospice of Towson

This contest is not only a chance for lifters to come together to compete as a team and it is also a fundraiser for the Music Therapy Program at Gilchrist Hospice of Towson.
